If you are interested in getting more involved with the SGMP Chicago Chapter, please consider voluteering to serve on one of the committees shown below. Some are short term committees and others require a year long committment.
30th Year SGMP Anniversary Cookbook:
Chair: Cheryl Wierenga, Sales Manager, Portland Doubletree
The goal of this committee is to obtain a minimum of ten recipes for the Anniversary Cookbook as well as ask members for short SGMP memories to be included in the cookbook to make it not only about recipes but also about our SGMP family.

Marketing Outreach (Membership):
Board Liaison: Phyllis M. Hartford
This committee shall develop, recruit, maintain and retain Chapter membership for the Chicago Chapter by recruiting eligible and qualified indviduals and organizagions interested in meeting planning. This committee will also reach out to individuals whose membership has lapsed or in jeopardy of lasping to remind members of the benefits of SGMP membership.
Registration:
Board Liaisons - Therese Hanen and Ethel Crisp
This committee is responsible for greeting members and guests when they attend a Chapter meeting. Committee members provide name badges, staff at registration table and ensure that raffle tickets are sold at the registration table.
Programs and Education:
Board Liaisons- Jakie Levine and Ethel Crisp
This committee will be responsible for planning and coordining educational programming based on the 7 Core Competencies for our Chapter's monthly Chapter meetings and will assist members in achieving their professional designations such as CGMP or CMP certification.
SGMP Chicago Chapter Bylaws:
Board Liason - Marco Fernandez
This committee will be responsible for reviewing the SGMP Chicago Chapter Bylaws to ensure that they are in compliance with the National Bylaws.
Communications:

This committee is responsible for chapter communications and helps our members stay informed about chapter activities via e-mail and other media sources.
Holiday Party & Chairity:

Chairs: Todd Lizak and Demetra Collins
This committee is responsible for planning one of our major fundraisers for donated items of raffle donations to raise money for a monetary donation to a charitable organization and for Chapter expenses, including Chapter scholarships to the NEC.
Silent Auction:

This committee is responsible for coordinating our Chapter's largest fundraising event for the year. These funds are raised through this event goes towards chapter schlarships and other chapter expenses, including our educational monthly chapter meetings.
Community Service:

Chair- Willie Mae Jordan
The purpose of the community support committee is to give back to the community by helping organizations in need of assistance.
Scholarships and Awards:

This committee shall provide scholarships to Chapter members for continuing education and training in planning and supporting Government meetinsl This committee is also responsible for administering scholarships for the National Educational Conference in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Newsletter:

The committee is constantly working and gathering content and preparing articles for the next edition of the Chapter newsletter.
Website:

This committee is consistently maintaining and developing the chapter website to ensure that information shown on the website is always current.
Nominations and Elections:
Board Liaison: Vernon Spears
This committee shall be responsible for soliciting for seeking qualified candidates as nominated from the Chapter membership fpr leadership positions in the Chapter; in accordance with and as specified by the Chapter Bylaws and the National Norminations and Elections (NE) section of the SGMP Policy Manuel.
