I believe that whether you plan meetings, special events, conventions and/or conferences, SGMP is sure to offer valuable tools and industry contacts and relationships to help govenment meeting planners be more sucessful in their careers.
I feel that substantive educational programing and training and productive networking opportunities play a key role in the success of our mission at SGMP. To that end, I believe strongly that attendance at our montly meetings is a direct reflection of what is being offered by our Chapter in the two areas above. Therefore, I am committed to helping government meeting planners improve the quality and the cost effectiveness of government meetings through education and networking.
This year, we will be encouraging the professional development of our members by promoting the Certified Government Meeting Professional (CGMP) certification, as well as by promoting the attendance of our members, thorugh Chapter scholarships, to the National Education Conference (NEC) in New Orleans, Louisiana, May 16-18, 2012.
